Hey guys,
ive been quietly reading the forums for a while and done alot of basic tune up work to my 05 GTP Comp G and some others (which include: new spark plugs autolite 104, new spark plug wires, new ignition coils, new 180* T-stat, cone air intake, TOG headers, about 3 coolant flushes, brake fluid flush, new bypass valve, new bypass solenoid, new 02 sensors, cross drilled and slotted rotors with new ceramic pads. all done between 85k and 93k miles [excluding a couple oil changes as well])
but heres my problem, everytime i look at my coolant recovery tank the excess fluid which is still dexcool is becoming less orange and more full of particles and brown like. the first time i flushed it had chunks of brown stuff floating in it and i ran water through till it was clear with no particles coming out. ran fine, noticed it was goin dark again, flushed it not even 3k miles later. my coolant tank got cut by my serpentine belt i got a new one flushed the fluid and spend 2 hours making dang sure there were absolutely NO particles of any kind coming out the drain plug. clean enough to drink after it wen through my radiator. my coolant tank is now goin brown again, but heres the catch: when i took my supercharger off last week the coolant in the UIM was perfectly clean like it was straight out of the bottle....
i have a set of coolant elbows in my garage just waiting but im not thinking ill also need to replace all the radiator tubing in addition to a flush with them. What do you guys think?
EDIT: so i was pulling my car up in the garage to get ready to swap the radiator hoses and was cleaning the inside and noticed my passenger side floor was soaking wet but slimy not like water. i pulled up the carpet and saw where all my coolant had gone, into my freakin floorboards?!?!?! i searched a bit and saw that maybe this is the heater core giving out on me. im a broke college student and really dont want to have to replace my entire interior carpet on my comp g so its soaking up with some towels, but the fluid also got to the driver side i never noticed because i put some extra foam under my carpet for comfort. is there a way to keep coolant from going through my heater core and prevent it from flooding my carpets during normal use??? please help
