    UPDATE NEAR THE BOTTOM

Ok so I romped on it a few days ago and right after it ran really rough. Like it was completely missing a cylinder. When I first scanned it I had a bunch of different codes. (pic will be below). SES light is blinking. Now its saying cylinder 5 but I checked the wire and the plug and looked and it had a good spark. So any help with my problem would be appreciated guys. Thanks.

    First scan

    Second scan as of now

    If this gives any info.

Try switching the wire with another. If you still have a #5 miss then it's obviously not the wire. I'd try switching coil packs then.

That P1362 on cylinder 2 bugs me. 5 and 2 are on the same coil pack. Swap coil packs with another and see if the misfire moves

it takes 2 seconds to swap a wire and/or coil pack so try that. typically when i have a light blink at me while driving, its fuel issue or really bad spark and with the given codes i would try the spark stuff first.

Googling 1362 and 1361, you have what appears to be a bigger issue than just a coil, plug wire. Maybe a bad ICM or wiring. I'd want to look at the diagnostic aids in Alldata or GM ESI to see what they suggest these to be caused by.

Should be a simple fix once we see what those are.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Reread this.

If you need the GM ESI, its on GPONA, register if you haven't yet, its at the top of the page under "service manual".

Ok, so I switched the plug and wire and still nothing. I see it has great spark and it smells like it has plenty of fuel so im still kinda stumped. also switched the coil packs and the misfire stayed at 5.

The service manual is the GM ESI.

How did the old spark plug look? Worst case scenario you popped a ring land on that piston. The other possibility is you have a bad fuel injector on that piston. Since everything electrical checks out that's all I got

i ususally lean towards injector too but those have their own codes along with if those injectors are having electrical problems.

I ohmed out the injectors. All of them checked out good.

Anyone think I could have a clog in my exhaust system?

the clog would be in ur cat and i kind of dont think you would get only 1 cylinder thats misfiring.

So turns out theres no pressure coming from no 5 cylinder. Im going to look for the reason now but if anyone wants to jump in go ahead.

pull the valve cover and check to see if the rockers are on and working. could be a bent push rod, busted valve, chipped piston, whole bunch of different stuff could be wrong. start with the valve cover and rocker inspection.
