Can anyone give me the 'For Dummies' version of how to clean the MAF, IAC and throttle body on a '91 Grand Prix GTP 3.4L V6. She has started stalling. I had new wires and plugs installed but that didn't help, she stalled again the next day.
Thanks![]()

The IAC take it out and take a rag spray carb clean on it then with your finger put it in and move it in a circle to clean the bore ,then take the rag and clean off the penile of the IAC,On the throttle body you can spray carb clean in there then hold open the throttle plate and wipe the bore out.On the MAF I`m not real sure but if I find out I`ll let ya know cause I have to do the same. Hope this helps you out.![]()
Ok I`ve tryed to clean off the maf and claen a ground by the batt but noe help can a maf be bad but show good and if it was bad why would it run good after restart.
Funny thing...my '91 doesn't have a MAF...lol. I took her to a shop to have the cleaning done, they did the IAC and throttle body but told me that she doesn't have a MAF but instead has a MAP...whatever that is...lol. And that was a complete waste of time because that didn't solve the stall problem but took her out for a drive with the mechanic because he couldn't get her to stall and she stalled while I was driving so he got to see how she was acting just before she stalled. He's thinking it's a problem steeming from a temp problem. I love this car, she's a sweet looking ride but she's being a cranky "B"...lol.
Your maf is the sensor in the intake duct before the throttle body, pull it out and spray the little wires in side with maf cleaner. As for the IAC it is on the tb and use the method above to clean it.
