Hi, I have a 1997 Grand Prix GTP with 131,000 miles. My srs airbag light came on, what does that mean and how could I fix or how much will it cost to fix the problem? And also it has a small oil leak. Is that typical and easy to fix?

It means that the airbag won't work in the case of a crash. Where is it leaking from?

How much does it cost to fix the air bag? I have no idea where it's leaking from. Just every place I park there's a small pool of oil underneath my car, I think it's leaking somewhere on the passenger side of the car if I had to guess. Any help?

I would guess the oil leak is the oil pan gasket, get it checked out by your mechanic. Make sure you are adding oil so you don't run low and ruin your engine! haha. For the airbag, I'm not sure, probably replace it but I know nothing about that.

Check your valve covers - they're prone to leaking.

Sure, you may have a wet pan, but you need to locate the cource of the oil.

The valve cover gaskets are held in place by rubber grommets that act as springs (like towckwashers kind of) on the cover bolts. These grommets shrink and lose the spring - then the seal is lost. Replacing the VC gaskets is fairly easy, and if you have >75k miles on stock gaskets, I pretty much guarantee they're leaking.

When you buy a new one, make SURE you get the grommets too.

check your oil pressure sensor, turn the wheels to the left,(use a flashlight and look behind the pass side wheel into where the oil filter is, ) just past it is the sensor, it drips on the axle and to the ground. the wires and plug will be all wet too, check while its running.

If you mean your cabin air fan - your resistor is blown and needs to be replaced. Search air fan resistor and you will get detailed instructions.
