I see the alternator pulley from ZZP and other places and I want it and the water pump undrive to free up a little HP, but is it actually going to help? Anyone tried this? I have a decently modded Regal and was wanting some extra ponies. If I could get 5hp to the wheels that would be nice from both pullies? Is this a pipe dream?

Oversized alternator pullies are a joke. I might consider a larger WP pulley, but if flow is decreased to the point of becoming laminar then heat transfer drops and the car overheats.

    Kevin,

Think less coolant flow and less electricity. Neither are good in my opinion. Then add on my experience with a nicely modded car and adding the electric WP. According to the dyno pulls that's ~7hp right? I couldn't tell at all. Once you are well modded, you won't notice a WP pulley or alt pulley.

Stay safe, keep your factory pullies.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
