Water Pump

Any suggestions? Installed new water pump on 2001 Grand Prix SE V6!!! Still leaking!!

im assuming you put a new gasket on?

did you clean the mating surfaces? did you tighten it enough? gotta have more infor man.

did you put thread sealant on the 4 large bolts? they go right into the water jacket of the block and will leak if not sealed.

and the matting surfaces need to be clean, like scrapped down with a razor blade clean, no old gasket material can be left on.

i put my new water pump gasket on dry, no rtv at all and its holding fine.

^^same, but i also didnt put thread sealent on and its also not leaking.

my bolts came out all gunked up from the old sealant, so i cleaned mine up and resealed them. better safe than doing it 2 times.
