Can anyone on here help me on how to remove the gas filler tube? Mine is getting pretty rusty. I got as far as getting it unbolted but I can't get the plastic piece behind the gas door out to remove the tube.. just wanna inspect it as it seems I'm going thru gas really fast lately.

just replaced mine --- that plastic thingie is held in with 5 screws, the four you see when you open the gas door and then one by the hinge. you have to remove the frame attachment point to push the filler tube back a little, once you do the plastic deal will drop out.

I got a pristine one at the boneyard for $15 and included the plastic deal you're messing with. the one I took out was a rusted mess. I don't think it was leaking fuel but I know it was gassing fumes and not holding vacuum.

I was just thinking about why my gas is going quick too on the G6. I think it really is just the A/C.

No, no rust anywhere, just saying that gas goes alot quicker in the summer from the heat/AC
