Well i finally ordered myself a present and got a downpipe, but after looking under the car, i've seen that the bolts (especially those from after the U-bend to the resonator) are pretty badly rusted. I've been spraying them all with the PB blaster for 3 days now, and i still cant get them to budge.

Does anyone know what size bolts or studs these are? both the ones that connect up to the manifolds, and the ones that connect to the resonator area, just in case i have to destroy them to remove this pipe?

    Thanks

I am also interested in what size they are. I just bought a DP as well and I think I will replace the bolts while I have them off.

well 3 out of 4 are able to be lossened, always a stubborn one. used all i could think of save heating the freaking thing or cutting it off. But just for general FYI the bolts that connect the DP to the resonator are M10x1.50. i bought some just up at Advance Auto and im sure they'd be at whatever your local auto parts store is. An inch long bolt will probably work, but i went with 30mm (about and inch and 1/4)

The old one compared to the new one. god bless winter weather and road salt. and only 36k miles on her. i cannot wait till my brake lines rust through...

Just get a breaker bar on them and go as hard as you can and they will come. Use a 6 point socket so you dont bust them.

The ones that connect the downpipe to arent that hard and should come easily after hit with some PB blaster.

If you want a hard bolt to get out, try the one that connects the egr to the rear manifold.
