    So even when i go for a short ride my engine gets extremely hot i cant touch anything under the hood not even the two braces because they get hot. Now i know engines get hot But i never seen one get like this. but my temp gauge doesnt even hit the half way point

    It's a 3800.

    It's normal.

    Yeah. Even with mine running at 180*, everything under the hood gets too hot to touch after a bit.

    180* is almost 2x the human body's temperature. Its gonna feel hot. The engine bay doesn't have a lot of ventilation which doesn't help.

    is 180-190 the normal running temp of the 3800?
    because my 3100 runs at like 195-200 at 80mph on an open highway, i would think that the 3100 would run cooler because its smaller?

    Only if you put in a 180 thermostat. Otherwise it runs 195-210.
