For about a week now when I try to start my 99 GTP I get a clicking sound from behind the dash and the car does not start. This sound only happens when I turn the key. The clicking sounds like it is coming from the passenger side behind the dash. The car starts perfect when I use the remote starter. The car has 83000 miles on it. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Sounds like its probably a bad ignition switch.

I want it fixed, not just use the remote starter.

The ignition switch, what type of a job is it to replace it?

    Brian.

    David.

Quit crapping up threads. I'm getting tired of it. This is a warning for both of you.

Sorry OP, your looking for the ICM. Try finding one in a local junkyard off of any SeriesII or SeriesIII 3800's. Remove the coil packs and the 7mm bolt holding it in. Reverse order. If all else fails to rule it out, take your current one to an auto parts store and have them test it for free.
