I have a few problems with my 97 GRP SE 3.8. The windows work fine when it is raining. When it is nice out I have to open my door and find the sweet spot and they will roll down. The sweet spot is ever in the same place twice.
The air conditioner doesn't work. I am working on that but until then I would like to fix my windows.
I am assuming that it is a short in the wiring harness in the door. Does anyone have any ideas on where I should start to fix this??

I would take a multimeter and see if you are getting power to the switch. That should help pinpoint if the issue (sounds like a loose or cut wire to me) is before or after the switch.

are you talking about just the drives door? do the windows work on the other door/doors by using its own switch?

sounds like a bad wire or loose connection in the door or a bad switch.

None of the windows will work. I have only been able to open any of them with the drivers door open when it is not raining. I will have to open the door and keep trying it in different positions until they work.

If it is raining out they all work. If not they don't work, then I have to have the drivers side door open in a certain position for them to work also.

so you have to move your drivers side door around to open the passenger side window even if you use the passenger side door buttons?

Yes, it depends on my drivers side door position if they open or not. It does not matter which controls you use. Nothing works unless it is raining or I have the drivers side door open and only in a certain position.

If I try to move those doors to make those controls work they won't. It depends on my drivers side door.
I imagine it is in the wiring harness in the drivers side door?
