ive yanked on it as hard as i can and theres no give

You have to start peeling it from one edge and walk it around the lip. I was actually able to get the airbox open without taking it off before but it's difficult.

Putting it back on is easy. Just wiggle and push

okay i just didnt want to take it off and have a harder time putting it back on. thanks for the help

To get it back on you could always just wipe a little bit of WD-40 around the inside edge of it. That will help it slide on easier.
