so i did plugs and wires, and ran my car on a scanner, has 0 KR, but still misses in 3, 4 5 and 6... i was told it could have bent valves, any ideas on what else it could be or what i can do to try and fix it if the valves arent bent?

ok, first let me say, you guys have all helped me very much and i still am learning about these cars. so here i go... my car still has misfires in cylinders 3,4, 5 and 6, not so many in 5 and 6 but like 3,xxx in 3 and like 5,xxx in 4, i changed plugs and wires and it helped the other cylinders a little but its still bad in a few as well. my mods are as follows, k&n cone filter, ported and polished heads, intake (upper and lower) ported and polished s/c, 3.4 pulley, cat and res eliminated. it has no kr at idle but didnt take it out on the street to test it, just revved the engine. so my question is, does anyone have an idea on what may be causing the misfires? and to properly test KR do i need to drive it? thanks in advance!
oh and i used autolite wires and autolite 103s, i was wondering if i should change the coils
What coils do you have?
When did the misfires start?
Was it right after doing work to the motor?
i bought it like that, i didnt change the stock coils yet, thats my next step, my step brother has some that im gonna try to seee if they go away, got a feeling it isnt gonna help
I doubt it will too. Probably the ICM, crank learn or the crank sensor. I'd start with the learn if you have a free one available.
i dont, what is the crank "learn"? i know how to work on cars but never actually heard of that
and i was looking at computers on the sites that fivefingerdeathpunch told me to check out, i will be buying one once money flow is more available
Crank learn is a CASE learn. It's a crank variation thing. The pcm can think the crank position is a bit off from it's actual position. This can cause odd things. By learning the position (requires an HPT/DHP/TechII or other serious scan tool) you can sometimes clear up a multitude of issues.
ok, thanks for the info!
Are these misfires at idle?
perhaps warmer plugs?
those are REALLY cold for a 3.4 pulley.
605's as previously suggested would be a good place to start.
Also merged your threads and moved 'em to the gen tech area.
Also curious what a ported UIM looks like.
