hi im the proud new owner of an 02 pontiac grand prix.
i've had the car for about 2 months decided to give it a tune up today oil change and spark plugs, no big deal. what the **** is with these spark plug wires. i'm buying new ones tommorrow because they were such a pain to get off that i ripped them to pieces before they let go of the plug. am i missing some small trick? in my experience spark plugs are a one tool job, a wrench the size of the plug and pop the wires by hand.
what he fucdjklasja;sggajklskl;sagh. i stopped liking this car today.
    oh hi im new here

the old twist and pull works for me, did you pull the engine forward to make more room when you did the plugs? it helps a lot of us out. and welcome

    that sounds like good advice.
i didnt tilt the engine but, the angle/space wasn't really my problem, I'm a small guy. those suckers were just on there good i guess. 2 of em i ripped off the boot/wire and the metal connectors were still on the plug ><. regardless the new plugs are in, wasn't planning on replacing the wires but in my experience new parts are never a bad thing

haha i'm just messing dude. when taken care of, these cars are really nice. not gonna lie they have stupid problems and need work but they are solid and reliable.

enjoy the leather, a/c, ass warmers (my personal favorite), and HUD

Welcome. Gotta be forceful, but gentle with old plugs. Probably needed new ones anyway. Keep an eye on your coolant.

Theyve been on for a while and never disturbed. In a sense it's good..means the car ran good for the previous owner.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I always put a beefy set of vicegrips on the plug wire and pry'd against the valve cover and they always just "pop" right off.

At least...it always worked for me. I also removed all the misc. engine brackets/EGR/Gold Manifold human cheese grater covers...for next time...that way its TONS easier.

mine pulled right off by hand...and honestly i have no idea when they were last changed. lol all i know is that the old spark plugs were so worn that there was a .080" gap and i have no idea how they were even firing.
But like blue said, vice grips are always good for this. :-)

    Moved this for you.

seems more of an inquiry than a pure rant.
