As long as I know there just 2 screws holding this thing on. One behind the mirror and one behing the door panel I should be able to do this. Anybody use a tool besides a door panel clip popper thinger that hasnt killed all there clips(even tho I may just replace them while Im in there)Quote:

i use a door panel tool, but sometimes clips break, on my door panels i had problems where the retainer on the door panel where the clip is held would break, so even a new clip wouldnt help lol
just buy extras, and try and get all your underdoor panel work done at once, never need to pop em again lol

my car had that too, i cut off the plastic close to the rubber by the window, pealed it off, masked it off, sanded and painted it right on the car, the bottom lifts up so i slid newspaper under it on the bottom side.
i did 3 or 4 very light coats with black rustolium and it came out great.
