2000 Grand Prix GTP. Don't know how to turn on the AC. Have done it before, and it's ice cold. Just don't remember what I did. There's nothing on the air controls that says AC. Errrr duh... How do I turn it on?

i drive a regal so mines different set up than yours, but i have no a/c button, i have the digital climate control, and all i do is turn the temp to 60, or cold as it goes, and i get air conditioning.
Mine only goes to 60 but when I had the AC kicking before, it was able to go lower. And the mode button only controls where the air is going. It's really not in the owners manual.
Google your year make and model for a owners manual, thats how i found mine, got it in my favs.
sometimes you just don't know how to do something till its in black and white, i've used mine 3 or 4 times already.
is your a/c compressor clutch engaging when you turn the a/c on? if not it could be a relay or out of freon or "R" whatever we use theses days.
I thank everyone for the answers, but I MOS DEF check the manual before asking here, and it really says nothing lol
Yea, press "AUTO" button, you can control the fan speed afterwards or it will blow full blast. Or, jsut make sure the "ECON" button is not illuminated, and the temp on the display is set colder than outside. And then there is the "MODE" button........
I have digital controls and i still have an ac button.
With the automatic temp system, there really is no "ON", it;s really on all the time, your supposed to set the temp. you want. Note: the "ECON" button disengages the a/c compressor.
Yeah, that's what the manual said. The display (both of them) showed a simple ac button, but there is none for mine. I did read what you said as well, but couldn't get it to work, but I'm sure I will. Thanks for your time on such a silly question.
But you can't set the temp lower than 60. So... How is that AC lol ?
The "coolness" of the air the system blows out depends on the temp outside. You can't set the temperature of the air coming out of the system. Setting the temp doesn't mean anything unless you have AUTO on. 60 is just the lowest temperature the car will maintain inside the car (or at least try to) while set on AUTO. If you change the fan speed yourself, AUTO is turned off and the AC will stay on until you shut it off.
