Hey all, new to this forum & glad i found it.
I'm considering going to the local dealership tomorrow and test drive a 2005 Grand prix GT. There asking 10k (as is) for the GT. I guess they could offer a 3rd party warranty. It has 61k on it. Black beauty with black leather seats, sunroof. I could only inspect the exterior of the GT as they where closed today. The threads on the front tires a little lower then the rear. Looking under the engine, I saw no indications of any oil\fluid leaks. Exhust looks nice from what I can see. Interior looks clean from what I can see. From the outside I detected no repaint or body work done. Knowing popping the hood open will tell me more. I do notice when I press down on the front of the hood there appears to be a very, very small gap or like the latch is not closed all the way (perhaps normal?).

With this mileage on the GT is there anything specific (besides the usual check of everything) I should look for on a test drive?

I'm thinking the stealership might take $9k or not, lol. Anyone think it's still to much money for the GT?

Any head gasket problems on the 2005 GT's?

It's a one owner car with a clean carfax from what I just checked on the dealerships site. The black color is very nice as well as the sporty style of the GT.

    Thanks for the help.

10K is a lot for a GT IMO.

    GTP, Comp-G, GXP.

They might be worth looking into if your budget is that high.

Matt thanks for the reply. If I can get them down to $8700\$9000 still to much?

I just tried Edmunds & Kbb (using my zip code in PA) to get an idea.
    Edmunds
    Private sale, around $7500
    Dealer sale, around $8700

    Kbb
    Private sale, around $10,425
Dealer sale, I did not even bother lol.

    I'm sure dealers like Kbb.

Being attached to a single car is a sure way of getting ripped off.

If you're not in a rush I'd wait.

Paid 7500 for my 04 GT 3 years ago. But with dealer fees, license fees etc., it came out to almost 9k.
