Hey guys, I got a GM oil pressure gauge that I need a hand installing. Ive already mounted the gauge and wired it so that it lites up, I've also already ran the tubing through the firewall from the small hole from the throttle cable. My question is how do I connect my 1/8" tubing? The gauge came with a few fittings which I've already used but no T connector. I'm guessing it needs to go to the sending unit by the oil filter? Is there anyway to do this without having oil run through the car? Does it need to be T'd off? What size T? Anyone got pictures?

    Thanks, Frank

Is it possible to hook up a mechanical gauge in a GP? They ARE alot cheaper than the elec.

Use the mech. gauge, just dont use the plastice tubing, use copper tubing of the same size, it can be found at the auto part stores, or hardware stores.

its quite easy to install, remove the stock sensor by the oil filter, have a little bucket under it, oil will pour out for a bit, and screw in the the new line and brass nut, route the tube so its clear of anything hot, and use Teflon tape on every connection, even on the gauge connection.

if you want the stock sensor to be installed as well, just put a T in the hole where the sensor was put the tube in the bottom of the T and the stock sensor in the other open end, didn't your new gauge come with instructions? mine did.

oh and if you jack the car up on the pass side and remove the front wheel you can just reach in there to remove the stock sensor, and install the new stuff.

why would you not want an electric one? seems like a good way to get oil inside the car.

If you race it won't pass tech, you can't have oil go past the firewall.
