So while I was working on my car today I found this random plug below the hood release and I have no clue what it could go to.. Any ideas?

I'd pop out the headlights and see what you can see - they ought to let you get a good angle on your wiring in there.

All of the GP's were standard for that and it would be connected.

I believe it's for the temp sensor my GP has it right under the hood latch also.

Should be on any car that has an external temperature reading. I know my Regal has it with the Dual Climate control that shows the outside temperature. If you have a mirror that's supposed to show the external temperature it would have it also. My GTP doesn't show the external temperature so I'll check when I get home if it has the sensor or plug. Might be like the HUD units where they put all the wiring in most cars even though there's no unit. Does the plug look weathered, connector corroded, or does it look like it was connected to something until recently?

The airbag light would be on in that case. OP doesn't mention a light.

I was thinking the same, there would be a light. But finally checked my GTP and the same plug is not plugged into anything and the connectors are corroded. The temp sensor on the Regal is located at the front right on a piece between the AC Condenser and the bumper. It has the same style connector and the same color wires so I think you're good.

Ok. Yeah. When I bought my digital dic I took the old one out and cut all the wires to it. Thinking I had to strip and connect them to the dic but fortunately, the plug in for the dic was just hanging down behind my radio... Makes sense that this would be another random unused plug.
