    I think there might be a thread on this topic already but I couldn't find one. I just want to double check my shopping list for replacing my LIM gasket tomorrow morning.

    Metal Gasket(LIM)
    Gasket for UIM
    New Oil
    New coolant(Dex-Cool or different stuff?)
    New coolant elbows
    Brake Clean
    ------------------------------
    I want to port my S/C aswell while it is off. Any specific tools or tips? I have a metal cutting blade on a grinder, was going to use that for the main cut. Should I bevel?

    you mean supercharger to LIM gasket?

    and dont forget some RTV sealant.

    coolant its your choice, I choose green, because dex hates air.

    and a filter for the oil.

    buy 11-12 quarts. 2 filters.

    You will need 1-2 to dump down the vally to wash away the coolant.

    then 5 for the change, then drive it for 30-50 miles and change it again.

    Yea that filter might be a good idea, thanks for that info. Any specific oil?

    The way its typed sounds like a sarcastic remark. It isnt, hehe. Ignore it.

    cheap oil is all you need, after you drive the 30-50 miles, put whatever you want in.

    You'll find all the part numbers in the common parts and goops thread.

    One thing I found interesting on our cars and I'm just tossing it out there. Dumping oil through will help get coolant off of the parts if you get any in the motor. However the steel oil pan has about 3/8" of fluid below the plug. Coolant is heavier than oil.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    I cleaned out the throttle body when i did mine also, so... New throttle body gasket, throttle body cleaner, thermostat, thermostat o-ring (while your in there), and get enough brake clean. I'm compulsive and went thru 4 cans cleaning **** out.

    So to get that coolant out.. Just dont be shy with the oil? Lol

    Don't dump your intake manifold upside down over the open engine. I lift straight up and get it away from teh engine.

    After you've drained the radiator, and you pull the alternator and it's bracket..there is very little left in the manifold. Keep it reasonable and you won't be filling your motor.

    Doing an LIM job, I don't pour oil through unless I have one dump coolant (happened once, and only once). Then I fire up the car to ensure it's running well, turn it back off and change the oil, keep filling coolant etc. Then run it to top off the coolant and look at the oil. If the oil gets milky.. go buy two more oil changes. Like I mentioned though...ONCE

    The info about the oil pan is to remind everyone that water will sink in the pan and sit in the bottom. Pulling the plug won't help. You won't be able to get the last 2 cups out of the bottom of the oil pan w/o running the motor and getting the fluid mixed up. So if when you do your first oil change, if you don't see any milkiness, then you are ok.
