My 05 GP has around 28,500K miles on it, but is unfortunately out of warranty. Im the second owner, the car was a GM lease car so i dunno what the person before me did to it but im guessing it couldnt have been much if they didnt want to end up paying for it when they traded it back in. Anyways, back to my rant...ive never seen this on a car with 28K miles on it, maybe 80K or more, but wtf?! sorry for the quality of the pics, had to take them with my cellphone, but you guys can clearly see the top of the headlight capsule is fading or sunbleached or something when compared to the front of the headlight. I dont see any reason why these headlights should be doing this at such low mileage, wouldnt this be a manufacturer defect?? Anyway, anybody else having this problem?Any suggestions/remedies? It's only getting worse every day and really becoming an eyesore...

Mileage has no bearing on something like that. It depends on how old the car is time-wise. Looks like they're fogged inside, too.

You could try one of those headlight restoration kits (if the problem is on the surface of the lens). I use TW ICE on my car and its good for head/tail light lenses. Polished up mine and they're crystal clear.

There are two different methods of repairing such damage in the How To section. You might want to check those out and see if any of that would help out.

cool, thanks Scotty! Guess I'll have to fix it myself, but i was really posting this thread in hopes that other 04+ GP owners were having the same problem. Well, not "hopes," i don't wish anything bad on anyone else's car, but you know what i mean...maybe it was a manufacturer defect or something and if there were enough of us with the same problem....eh, nevermind, im just dreaming.lol

Nah, its not really a manufacturer defect in that sense. It is a product of polycarbonate capsules. Most of it is from sun exposure, but also bug splatter and such will case the surface to degrade and believe it our not the friction of the wind over the headlights can do it as well over time.
