I want to buy a K&N intake for my car, all the intakes I find are for 04-06, I found a review on pfcy and someone said they put them on their '08 and it was easy, I called K&N and they said that it wasn't tested on the 07 & 08 models and they don't know if it will work, does anyone have a K&N intake on their 08's and do you have problems?

it will work on the 04-08 cars.

But why do you want to shell out 200+ bucks for a intake system??

You can make your own for under 80 bucks.

I've read the writeup and I don't have the skill level to do it, so there's no difference between the 04 or 08 engine?

I just found a post at the bottom and read it and found chromeintakes on eBay $50 doesn't sound that bad, wondering if I'll just be paying for the name if I buy K&N

You sir are correct, your paying 60 bucks for parts and rest for the name and shipping.

I have a chromeintake and I don't mind it the only bad this is that the filter isn't a 9" filter.

I would be very skeptical about the quality of that chromeintakes filter.

I was told at a local shop that because the tube is chrome it will heat up quick and wouldn't be as good as a K&N seeing that the K&N is plastic, any opinions?

you'd be better off buying a 9" filter at advance, putting various pvc couplers and making your own like i did. i think i spent a total of $24 on this whole setup. my filter was on sale for $10
