Explains the misfire on #6. Whats weird is that it would only misfire at idle and not while accelerating or just cruising. What do yall think? Chipped piston? Possible faulty spark plug? Its not smashed in like it should be if it were a chipped piston.

That appears to just be plug failure. The whole insulator is missing! Of all the chipped pistons I've seen, I've never once seen debris remain in the cylinder.

its not in the oil pan....it went out the exhaust valve.

i'd do a compression test and hope the valve's still tight, most of the time the valve gets beat up when little chunks of metal pass through them.

and scope the piston if you can.

I put those in 4 yrs ago...I just put in some iridium, and new wires and the misfires from #6 are gone. And quite a bit of difference in power with that cylinder firing. Just weird that it didnt throw a code.

Crap, I kinda figured but I thought the electrode would be smashed in if that were the case.. I was hoping for a defective plug.

I went to get some NGK V power but they only had like 2. And I didnt feel like drivin all over for em, so I just got iridium.

nothing wrong with running platinums. however, the concensus is that if youre modding your car youre best off with cheap copper plugs because they perform the best. you just have to change them ever 15k miles or so.
