    Does anyone have the specs on this intake on its performance or has anyone used this before? Just trying to get a bit more background on the intake.

    I have had an Intense setup in the past on my Bonneville. Great hose, good overall setup. In that setup though we had a canister that could be moved to get it into the fenderwell. I'm not so sure how you'd get the tubing in there with a W body.

    While the tubing is fantastic stuff...it's pricey.

    The more I looked at various setups etc, I basically think the HAI is about the best for the dollar. When is the hot air around it... same as the tube.. at idle in traffic. The rest of the time you will have reasonable airflow. If you located a box like a Wizzair or others .. it seems like you'd just be mimicking the stock airbox. Which to me.. isn't so bad in the 2000 year that I have.

    30 inches of 3.5 inch corrugated tubing with a 9 inch filter on the end.

    I like the size of the filter.

    Corrugated tubing might hurt air velocity, and it would additionally be slowed by there being a whole 30 inches of it. The fact of it being bent at a diameter of only 3.5 inches (instead of 4) might get someone's panties in a twist, but it's better than 3 inches.

    At $99, the price is right, with all those pieces... it's about the price you could make that for, provided you prefer the $45 K&N filter over, say, a $25 Spectre dry flow.

    For me, I'd say this is in no way better than just removing the airbox and strapping a 9" Spectre dry flow filter on the MAF. You'll save $75 and see the near-identical performance. Oh, and the filter will be slightly cleaner (needing less frequent cleaning) when it's in the engine bay instead of the fender.

    I dont know if you're still considering it or not, but I just installed it yesterday. It was kind of an @$$ pain because of the narrow area you have to work with and the bracket that holds the lower part of the bumper in place, i ran the hose through that, though it barely fit, and you keep your original everything from the engine to the MAF, that curved tubing to the MAF makes things kind of a pain, i need to find a replacement for that, and I didnt' care much for the couplers they sent, i just used the original snake screws. I'm sure there was a much easier way to do it than I did. (Though maybe not, but I'm a novice mechanic still) After fiddling with it, and having some leftover parts, I got it all together, I'd say i'm happy. Its really the only mod i have other than a 180* T-stat right now, I felt a little extra pickup, and it adds a nice little extra growl when you're gassing it.
