WIndow regulator and or motor is failing, or the glass is getting stuck in the slides. Do a search and you'll find several threads on this.

The slides have probably dried out which causes more strain on the motor which eventually will screw up the regulator, so all 3 probably.

Your best bet would be to try and lube the felt slides in the door guides. I use a lithium based lube that dries clear so no white junk on the glass/door. Works good. Roll the window all the way down and soak, and I mean SOAK the guides as much of them as you can see (run around the top edge where the glass meets the door, they like to stick here when closed then when you roll it down it can screw up the regulator) and see what you get. I've noticed this happens more when it's cold outside than anything.

If that doesn't work, then just buy a new regulator/motor combo and swap it in. Shouldn't take more than 40 min. if this is your first time doing one. Just be sure to get the correct one for your car, and the correct door, as they are different for the coupes vs. the 4-doors.

One piece of advice if you do have to remove the regulator to replace- be VERY careful removing the master switch from the drivers door panel. There is a metal tab at the bottom that holds it in place that needs to be released, and a small plastic tip at the top that will break if you force it. Trust me, been there replaced that.
