My 97 GT sometimes won't let me turn the ignition switch completely off to remove the key. Sometimes my gear shift, it's an automatic, won't engage and go in gear. The button on the knob won't push in. I can hear it clicking in the dash when I push the button. Sometimes I have to keep clicking for minutes before it finally engages. Also, it doesn't always make the clicking noise when I press the button. Sometimes it has a momentary lag. I believe these problems are all related. Does anyone have any idea what my problem may be? Could it be the solenoid or some sensor? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
