I have both a 2002 Impala LS and a 2003 Grand Prix GT, and I am curious as to how well the stock GP exhaust would look and fit on the Impala and the other way around. The Impala is my car, and I care more about the appearance on that. My fiance drives around the GP and doesn't care about the looks as much as functionality. So, how well would the fit and looks work for these? I want a stock sounding dual exhaust for the Impala without having to spend more money than needed. Thanks!

Doubt it... the GPGT has a dual exhaust and tips, the Impala LS is a single exhaust and a turndown tip. However, the majority of the exhaust might look the same. I'm more concerned about the length and clearance between the exhausts and the bumper heightwise. Most of that should be able to be adjusted with the hangers, but I'm looking for a more definite answer than that.

Looking at aftermarket exhausts, some companies have the same part number for both cars, but some have different part numbers.

its the same exhaust minus the rear 2 foot of it. the impala exhaust is the same as the GP exhaust minus the tips.

if you want the dual exhaust, which isnt truly dual exhaust feel free to swap the two on each car and let it ride. however, if your wife's car has the dual exhaust it's gonna look like crap with one exhaust tip hanging out of the rear of the car when there are two cutouts.

you need to extend the tips on the GP exhaust by about 6-8 inches. The impala has a bigger a$$

Alright! Thank you, that helps a lot more. At this point, her car looks pretty crappy anyways, although I don't want to help it look worse. Its not such a big deal with her car, though since she drives to some pretty rough neighborhoods for her job, and we don't want to draw any unwanted attention to her or the car. I'll probably go hunting in a salvage yard and cut off the back section from a GPGT or Impala/Monte SS. I know its not a true dual system, but I would prefer to have the balanced look of 2 tips out the back. Thanks again for the input!
