I had wires marked with permanent marker I thought, but the black box in picture splices into either the solid pink or solid red wire on switch, there is a wire coming from dash that splices in to one of them also. Black box may be some kind of relay.
    any reply's aprieciated.

Ok under a giant magnifying glass I seen specs of marker on 2 wires none on the other 2, so I hope that's right. started up everything seems normal. of coarse the top and bottom steering wheel covers wouldn't match up, I tried moving wires, nothing so drivers side is open a little, the screw hole is broken anyway so going to hit a jy or dealer and deal with it later, one pair of wire's with a male adapter one solid black and other Green/White on new switch, not on old, wonder what its for.

still flashing while driving, is that going to lead to other problems like the "car won't start" cause it is part of the alarm system. any relearn procedures on the 97 grand prix se after been dead for a year?
    Thanks again.

It's a relay spliced into switch that was the prob, must be the anti theft relay, I unpluged each wire and security light stoped flashing, tried switching there position's and now no alarm, keyless entry, etc. So will replace with -

    Duralast/Relay - Blower Motor (19265) | Relay - Anti-Theft | AutoZone.com

one of the bullets caught my attention

    # When a faulty relay is not replaced, the circuit will either be non-functional or remain engaged.
