ok im 17 and soon will get a car and of course (my bro is the one who drives the GP Base but i look for stuff online for the car like this kool site) im going to get a grand prix i dont want no stupid ford or a gay little honda with them little farting craps or them fancy audis or beamers. i want the GTP, fast, nice handling, kool car, its a pontiac, and just a fun car to drive. also its a 4 door with good MPG too. so ya i like pontiac and chevy cars so ya GTP is the one for me, and ya im 17 but im noting going to be like all crazy driving till i crash...lol ya no im not as dumb as other people who cant handle a fast car and end up crashing. but ya i want the GTP or the GXP but people say its not that good of a car, why? can you guys give me good info on the two cars and any other suggestions on a good car fast like the GTP and good gas milage and 4 door. Also im not getting a car until like in a few months or so sort of like my Grad gift. but ya i would luv to know what to pick and would luv to get a pontiac car and shut up them gay rice rockets and mustangs and other cars.

thnx again and ya looking through this site its like the grand prix heaven or something here kool site and nice to be here

Edit: the ya and kool i put to type faster and the K i accidentally put but yea i dont really like fords at all sorry if the typing bugs you but that is just me. you still get the message, thnx

theres nothing wrong with GXP's.. theres just not alot of aftermarket stuff for them.

GTP's offer a ****load of mods and such... a lightly modded GTP will walk all over a stock GXP.

if u plan on modding this thing... ur best bet is to read around the site and gather as much info as possible. heres a good link to start with...

Ok, Fords are gay and GTP's handle nice and are kool? C'mon man... really? GTP's are great cars but they don't exactly handle but can be "fast" especially by 17yr old standards with a small budget. Please, edit your posting, the spelling is terrible, this "ya" and "kool" garbage is idiotic.

Agree. But GXPs and GTPs are both nice. GXPs come with more stuff standard but are more expensive and are really limited mod-wise. And S/C whine is addictive.

Thnx Gtpinsc for the link and WOW thats a whole lot of info there ill need time to read that man...lol. I give thnx and a thumbs up at the guy who wrote all that. that sure as hell will help me out, one other thing the Gxp i like personally more then the GTP because of its top speed. i would luv a car that can go at least 160 just for having that dont know why but just luv the speed. i know the 04+ cars can hit 140 my bro hits 110 with limiter(not bad for the Base trim) but what about the 03 and lower the go like 115 any way to increase that? also i was looking around youtube to see the GTPs race before and they are good but heres one question i know u guys will want to answer, can a Stock say 02 GTP (if i get that one, depends on my budget) beat a stock Acura intergra like 99 i think and a 08 civic SI Stock? my buddys got both of them and really they car kool car but compared to cars i like such as the GTP, the G8 etc those cars are Sh@#4t to me. stupid fart cannon with "racing sounds" and other crud. and ya also a base V6 mustang i believe its a 06 this one guy has thats like with HIDs and really drives it like he owns the road i see him all the time on this certain street bugs me with that thing. my bro could not beat him i mean after like 40mph he slowly pulls away. but my bros car is a base too 07 GP.

And ya thats it thanks again for that link thats some good no excellent info and ya ill explore the site more on the weekend maybe to see thanks again

Edit: i wrote this before all of your guys response so thnx for all your replies and i agree with you dude on youtube when i here those S/C screams in the GTPs man that can be very addictive.

Just because the speedo stops at 115 doesn't mean the car can't go more than 115

There is also no need to go 160 unless you are on a track or have a death wish.

stock gtp is about as fast on the 1/4 mile as the civic si on paper. couple of mods, decent driver and ull be fine.

Read this thread thoroughly and you'll see just how childish and idiotic it is. Like I said before on another thread, stuff like this makes me glad to get out of the w-body modding world, way too many morons doing stupid shiiit, no offense (I guess) op, you've got to learn somehow I suppose.

lol nice thread i guess so far i just want a great car to have and possibly build on it over time but really the car i really want is the G8 GT, that thing will kill a bunch of cars and yea i like that car alot. Also when looking at it i said it has good handling, pretty much it does its not like the best but i have heard lots of these GTPs are fast, decent to great handling, and can be tuned to go lower than 12sec in a quarter mile. you say childish im just typing my mind and really there are cars out there that are faster than the GTP like those jap cars but to me i like pontiac and chevy and my buddy says his fav car the Lambo can kill any car. LMFAO really a lambo hell the ZR1 Vette will put a beating on that 4wd crud. really my point is this i want the GTP because its fast and affordable and again i like pontiac cars. ive heard lots of people say how a GTP tuned since that S/C help the mods to get lots of power and the GTP can own lots of cars out there but what i really want is just a everyday car thats fast and a 4 door. i could go with the GTO that thing will kill the GTP. but really i want a 4 door thats why i like the GTP because a little V6 car like that can ride with the big bad V8s and V10s no doubt about that. am i right or what?

really why would you care how i type im just asking questions about the car that is why its a called a Grand prix forum. All im saying n getting the point across by saying is that the GTP owns and would luv to have one.

also a3gtp other people have been answering me where as you have just been whining about the childish typing, really who cares tell me who? im new here too why you trying to be so hard what you expect everyone to be perfect? really you are just all negative right now.

also im think about stopping this thread so ill bring this question back up later on when choosing a car just anyone give me any last answers, thnx for helping i guess i did get that link which im still reading and ya that helps. also i do have another question which ill post later once i find the correct spot to put it in. thank you guys that helped me and i can really find out the easy questions of mine by exploring more.

Yes but this is the worst I've ever been involved in. To ZR1; what the hell are you asking about? Seriously, I'll answer questions if I get a somewhat resonable question to work with. You jump around from lambos and how hondas are rice and everything in between with no real sentence structure, so what the hell do you want to know about grand prixs?

Are they fast? In the hands of someone that knows what they're doing yes, relatively cheap to modify at that compared to other vehicles.

Do they handle good? No, but they can be modified to handle to an acceptable standard.

Are they dependable? Yes, if properly maintained like any vehicle should be.

Are you trying to say the GTP can hang with v8's and V10's?

What's your budget look like? Keep in mind that most GTP's are gonna have some mileage on them by now and depending on the year may very well need a trans. in the near future, so there's an extra $1500+, not to mention all the other things that could need replacing by now.

Also, what is your insurance going to be like on a G8 GT, GXP or GTP at 17? Might want to check that out BEFORE you decide what you want, as you may find out its too expensive, especially on the G8 GT which you would most likely have to carry full coverage on. Once again, without knowing what you can afford a month its hard to advise.

Give us a $$ amount and we may be able to help you in your quest for a nice Pontiac.

If you do get the GTP, please read through the forums and get good info before you decide to mod it. Tuning it to remove the speed limiter is fine but also remember upgrade the tires to a proper speed rating as they are not rated for speeds above that from factory. Little things like this will keep you and your car safe should you decide to max it out somewhere (hopefully nowhere near STL).

As much as I love my 00 GT, my buddies "mudstain" will walk all over it. Kinda apples to oranges there. Sure I could mod the snot out of my GT and run all kinds of cars but what I really need it to do is be a reliable, somewhat fun, safe form of transportation for me and my 2year old in case someone is doing 115 to test the speed limiter and plows into us
