Has the motor been sealed the whole time? I would put fresh oil in it, crank it by hand with no plugs in it probably 20-30 times to circulate a little oil, put new plugs in and fire it up.

no the engine was pulled from a wreck and just left in a garage....the intake was pulled 6 months ago and the engine was covered with a tarp. it was only yesterday that i learned the wrecked car had only 30000 miles. figured it would be cheaper to cam and run this motor than rebuild mine as long as i can get it running without fear of it blowing from the door. i am gonna pull the heads to port them so what do u think i need to be looking for and what do i do if i find whatever it is u tell me to check?

If you're pullin the heads just pull the oil pan while you're at it and make sure you clean everything up. Slap it back together, put it in the car and drive it like you stole it.

seafoam cleans schtuff really good. My camaro smoked like it was going out of style when i ran it through the brake booster line into thet intake and it took out all the carbon.

you can...just dont leave it in too long or it will break down the oil and kaboom
basically run it for like 50-100 miles with it..check your oil periodically too to make sure its not breaking down and getting watery
Not sure if seafoam recommends it or not but lots of people have had good results..im doing it next oil change which is in a couple weeks.

I have use brake cleaner in the past. Just make sure you blow it out with compressed air and then fill it up with oil once it's back together and crank it for a second before you run it.
