Hey im looking into installing a 75 shot of nitrous this month. My mods are listed in my sig. I was just curious how a typical gtp with my mods would take to a 50 or 75 shot ? Is it practical to do if i have the money for it ? thanks

Arguably the best bang for the buck period, Id say looking into a Zex kit becasue they have some of the best nitrous controlers on the market have also have good safeties built in. 75 shot has been done before and as long as its done right you shouldnt have any problems.
Search the site others have done 75 shot forsure.
With your list of Mods I'd say don't do it! You don't have supporting mods for the 3.4 pulley, and knock plus nitrous is a dangerous combo.
^^^^ You must not know what some controllers on the market can do now IF done properly!! EX. pull timing, and I'd be willing to bet that if usings say a WOT switch for Nitrous activation he'd be fine. And I'll go ahead and say people HAVE done 75 shot on 3.4 pulley. If done properly their is nothing to be afraid of with Nitrous.
I didn't see that he had headers, it blended with the background. I'd say if you're willing to take the chance, go for it.
I personally would not do it. You can acheive the same results without it.

You can acheive the same without? HOW?
Meth wont get you the same results and meth only allows more timeing more boost ect.
E85 and a new tune wont give you the same results as a 75 shot.
Their are 0 options to gaining 75 EASY HP besides piling on mods that will cost FAR more.
Do some research on Nitrous this isnt the 60's any more you sound like every other person thats Scared of nitrous becasue you dont know enough about it!
Oh really? So you wouldn't suggest an intercooler, cam and smaller pulley to get him reliable 12's instead of something with a high rate of failure that can't run all the time. You're right, who would want reliabliity anyway?
I'm not scared of nitrous, I have acessed the pros and cons and its not something that is worth it to me.
Do you run nitrous IraqVet?
Do you realize you can get a Zex kit for like half the money of the mods you just listed?
And considering how cheap 3800s are have u ever thought that with the mods he has plus a 75 shot would spank a IC'd car.
And if something bad should happen he could get an entire engine for like under 700 bucks and still spend less than throwing a bunch of mods at it.
Do I spray not yet is the best answer I can give you. Ive been in a nitroused fox mustang and a nitrous 00 trans am.
Bottom line YOUR opinion on nitrous is a terrible reason to cross it off the mod list for others Im telling you IF its done CORRECTLY its IMPOSSIBLE to beat for the gains.![]()
a 3.4'd 75 shot vs a cam'd IC gtp would not be a spanking. 3.4d gtp makes maybe 250-260 at the wheels if your lucky which nets you around 325 whp with the shot, there are camd IC cars making well over that number.
nitrous can be a great thing none the less but it is over time alot harder on a motor than a properly tuned cam IC setup (s1x, S2IC) would last alot longer. LS motors and 5.0s take to nitrous alot better than a 3800. Bottles are for babies anyway. My tuner went 11's on no cam and no rockers but the thing also blew up. Sure you can get a nitrous kit for less than a IC setup but getting bottles refilled over time will exceed the cost of an IC in the long run. Bottom line nitrous DOES NOT bring reliability. Safeties or not. Its for people who wanna go fast the lazy way and blow shyt up eventually.

I said his mods 3.4 and IC'd vs a 3.4 and 75 shot would spank the IC setup NOT the 3.4 plus IC plus CAM! I know a cam will make a huge difference!! The what ifs and eventually shyt blows up is pointless!! Umm how many people have had spun cam bearings after adding a cam!??
The cost factor of filling bottles I understand and agree with however, Do you race everysingle time you drive your car? Most people wouldnt use the nitrous every single time they drive it unless its a track car. Again this isnt the 70's anymore and nitrous is far better than the people that think "Ohh it will blow shyt up!" It serves its purpose when done right its impossible to beat. Im not saying a cam'd 3.4 IC car isn't a great way to go what I am saying IS that CAM and IC cost a TON more than a nitrous kit!!!!
running a 75 shot you need to drop 3 more degrees on the plugs than you got now and 3 move the timing back 3 degrees, your going to need a new tune and possibly fuel upgrades otherwise you can get intake backfire and with a supercharger i dont wanna see intake backfire.
Lol at some of the posts in this thread. I ran a 100 shot with a NX wet kit. I know it's hard to believe to some, but I had NO issues. You're not gonna blow your engine up, and you won't have to worry about nitrous backfire if installed and used properly. There are so many misconceptions when it comes to nitrous it's not even funny.
3.4 setup is more like 220-230 WHP.
convert 75 to WHP its 60 WHP.
so 280-290 WHP.
Thats in the neighborhood of what a cam'd car would make.
With just an intercooler you're looking at 250-270. RR's could get you higher... 280-290.
but hey, whos counting?
at the wheels? no.
Look at this: http://www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/57-3045_dyno.pdf
Dynojets are generous. Mustang dynos are conservative.
ya.
Bingo I cannot agree enough! Thanks man I have no idea why people bash on nitrous! This isnt the 70's and nitrous tech has came a long ways!
BTW Matt ever looked at a dyno graph from any car with a 75 shot of nitrous? Your estimate of a 75 shot to 60whp isn't even close.
EVERY single nitrous dyno Ive ever seen will net more for TQ than X shot!
Example 3.8 genesis from Dsport.
Baseline 301.88 WHP@ 6300rpm 280.98 TQ @ 4400 rpm
75 Shot 373.6 WHP @ 6300rpm 384.93 TQ @ 4400 rpm
Before you spew do some reasearch. Before people freak out about me comparing a 3.8 from a genesis thats not the point, my point is a 75 shot will gain damn near the shot for WHP increase and I will guarentee the TQ numbers will be greater than the size of the shot.
lol at all the "experts" in here who have probably never ran n2o. Don't believe everything you read.
I ran it, never any problems, just use common sense.
A 300whp N2O car will decimate a 300whp blower only car, especially from a dig.
