So about 2 months ago my car suddenly died, I could not figure out the problem took it to my local shop, they diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump. Than they quoted me 550 to change it. I respectfully said no I did it myself last weekend for 180 Still wouldn't run, took it back.
It smelled like it was running really rich. The shop finally found the problem today, bad MAF and MAP. So they replaced them. Cost me 392.00.

My question is if the car had been flooded out should I change the oil? I just changed it less than 250 miles ago with full synthetic. The car ran for however long at the shop and than my dad drove it home. Would that much driving burned the gas out of the oil already? Or should I get it changed pronto? thanks for the input.

IMHO you should be fine, but I would step up the next oil change to 3k miles. Oil is cheap, but not free. Now let me add the “ya, buts”. Is your PCV system working well? Since you have already driven it a bit all ready, most if not all of the gas should be flashed out. Hence most of the damage (if any) should be done already. Also, at any point the plugs need to be removed because they were to wet to fire? If that didn’t happen, you should be golden.

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!

Also...if you cranked on it...the plugs might be fouled...they are cheap...swap them out with some new ones

Meant to write this in the last post

Oil changes are quicker than motor swaps. Cheaper too. I always try to rationalize if certain things need to be done and think of the consequences if I don't do those things.
