I recently bought some HIDs from ebay. Xentec H3's @ 8k.

I noticed the my HUD is flashing/blinking like CRAZY! Took a look at it and my ballist is smoking from one of the fat wires(will post a picture). Tried redoing some of the wiring but still the same garbage, the bulb flashes as it warms up. So I just unplugged it for now.

Did I mess up on the wiring, should I try redoing it completely or is the ballist bad?

Im not exactly sure what that is. Im a noob at electronics :\ What should it look like? And only one ballist is smoking, the Starboard side.

Im gunna take that as a no then. The relay is a extra part that all hid users should buy to help protect the whole HID system.

So getting a relay harness will stop the ballist from smoking? The bulb works good but flickers a little bit and the ballist start to smoke as if its going to catch on fire. I guess I will try it out tomorrow. Here are some pictures of my headlight HID wiring: 74a0f4f4.jpg picture by fri3dchick3n - Photobucket
