I currently have a 2008 Grand Prix with a 3.8L V6. The car has had problems during the summer and winter with not starting. The engine will crank and the engine starts for a second and then sputters and dies. We checked fuel pressure with a gauge and found that there was no fuel pressure. We had the dealer replace the fuel pump. The next day, the car started no problem but refused to start after we came back from work. I wiggled the fuel relay in the fuse box and the fuel pump relay in the trunk and was able get fuel pressure and get the car to the dealer. They held it for three days and replaced the fuel relay in the fuse box. I just got it back and parked it on my driveway(which has an incline). I then decided to move it to allow another car in the drive way a minute after I turned it off and it refused to start. I wiggled the fuel relay and put a fuel pressure gauge on (no fuel pressure). I also didn't hear the relay for the fuel pump in the trunk start up. The fuel pump and the fuel relay in the fuse box have been replaced. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

thats part of the pump on his car. Could be bad wiring going to the pump or a bad new pump.

I tried to restart the anti-theft system to get the car to start and it refused. I had the car towed back to the dealer in hopes of having them find the problem.

This may sound stupid, and you've probably already tried this, but have you tried giving it a little gas when you start it up? Mine does the same thing (though oddly enough it doesn't do it as often in the cold -- I'm thinking electrical) but giving it some gas does the trick.

nooooo...you should never have to do that on a fuel injected car but w/e I guess...

keep us updated on ur car, I'm curious.

Mine starts but sometimes it runs ruff on start-up for a second, I did 2 complete tune-ups last year and replaced cat converter as well, still small issue but no biggie ATM.

Just got it back yesterday. The dealer reattached one of the leads to the fuel relay in the fuse box and the car now runs fine. Thanks for all the help, one little lead not staying on relay caused all the problems.
