Ok I have really don't have a lot of knowledge with cars at all and wanted to ask a questions about my grand prix, I have a 2000 grand prix GT and I was bored on my way to school at 8:30 a.m so the road was deserted, so I wanted to attempt maxing out speedometer on a straight away. So I was accelerating and I hit about 108-109 on the digital mph that projects into the windshield and the rpm's just dropped, I let go of the gas because I wasn't sure if something broke or i did damage to the engine, when i got to school everything was fine temp was normal no odd smells coming from engine when I opened hood and it started fine no weird idling or anything. I was just curious if there is a limiter on the car or something of that nature as I have done nothing to the car except for audio work, completely stock for the engine ect. was just curious if there is a limiter or a max speed that it lets you get to or if what happened was abnormal and I should bring it to the shop or check out specific things myself.

I'm not sure if this is the correct topic for this question if not please move to the correct topic thank you, and any input as to what may have happened would be awesome, as I said I really don't know much about cars id love to learn but non of my friends are car buffs and know much either so its hard to learn from just looking it up on the internet without hands on experience.

    Thanks.

I don't have to be going any faster but you guys don't have to be dicks about it I'm asking a simple question if there is a way to remove it that's all, just curious and its a learning experience for me anything simple and hands on, I love my car and would love to learn more about it and enhance it in any way possible, like i said I don't know much and I would love to do more don't gotta be a dick Fosho.

Would expect you to be more mature and that's coming from a 19 year old.

We not being Dicks Just looking out for you and everyone else arould you. You dont need to be going 110MPM on a street thats just asking for somthing bad to happen. Also going faster then 110MPH really is not an "enhancement" more of a death wish.

And as far as Maturity Going 109 on a road before School when everone is out walking Just shows a low level of maturity.

No one is out walking its a highway and it was completely empty due to it being early in the morning, I was goin 109 for a total of 4 seconds maybe and than dropped down to 65 ish to get off the next exit, and I wasnt aware that speeding shows maturity level this is news to me and never knew that you can judge someones maturity by speeding, should sticky that and let everyone else know on the forums. Half the forums I'm sure would be glad to be enlightened by your theory.

    This is done.

All you women and go stick it...except Jason.

To the OP, get a tuned PCM...from 3800performance.com.

That'll get rid of the 108 MPH limiter...and you can go a million mph if you want.
