I'm looking into getting a reprogrammed PCM. Does anyone have any tips to tell me about it? Like where I should/shouldn't buy it from, and how much of a performance increase it is. Also, is it just a plug-n-play or would I need a new harness for it? Thank you in advance.

I appreciate it guys! It won't do any long-term damage to my motor will it? And will I need a new wiring harness or is it just plug-n-play with the OEM one?

3800 performance has the DHP PCM's...which are the oldest and best tried and true mail order tune out there.

YouTube - 96 Grand Prix SE Turbo 8psi

Tuned with HP Tuners Suite. Highly recommended tuner software. I had to wire in a PCM from a 97 Lumina because the 96 GP wasn't supported.

If you live close...go get a in house dyno tune. If you don't live close.

Get a DHP. Their mail order PCM's I'd stay away from...but that's me.

Start with a box tune, add more mods....when you finish go get a really nice custom tune...there are always tuners within a decent driving distance.
