If a shop will do it for $60 just take it there. It will get a lot more out. Then just keep it fresh yourself.

That makes sense. Now to keep it fresh,if I wanted to drain the coolant and add some fresh coolant where would I drain from?Ive heard coolant plug, radiator hose, thermo housing using a vac?which is best

I know I’m going to start something here. Flushing a coolant system the “right” way is pretty involved, especially if your intent is to get away from Dexcool.

However, just to help you out I have a quick ghetto method you can use. It is not really a flush but it is 1000% better than doing nothing.

#1 Drain as much coolant as you can by removing the lower radiator hose.
#2 Take a garden hose to the fill hole of your radiator and flush water through until all the chunks are out.
#3 Reinstall the lower radiator hose.
#4 Empty the coolant overflow bottle, and rinse it out.
#5 Fill the radiator with 50/50 coolant, match what ever coolant is in the car. Especially if it is Dexcool, don’t cross the streams.
#6 Fill the overflow bottle with 50/50 coolant to like 3-4 inches.
#7 Button everything thing up and take a test drive.
#8 Check the overflow bottle for proper level, add if needed.
#9 Buy two cases of beer with the money you saved and have a house party.

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!

Just a quick update I cleaned my coolant resevoir as best as I could and also cleaned my radiator cap and tunnel because what I discovered. Can anyone tell me what is the "muddy paste-like" material that collects under the cap?It looks bad and hope it dosent signal internal mess.I also added more coolant, prestone.

Run a coolant tee... but buy some 5/8ths hose so you can remove it when you're done flushing.

20 gallons should be enough to ensure its clean.

Garden hose has teh pressure. Pull the t-stat and run the engine with the rad cap in the "middle" position so it doesnt hold pressure in but forces it out the overflow hose.

you dont run it with the t-stat housing off, you run it without a t-stat

It goes on the send line for the heater core.
