Hey,
Just had a fun day with my car. Sometime before I got her someone did a repair and installed a fluid hose between the transmission and the radiator. Looks to be a low pressure hose with standard hose clamps but it's been there for over 100,000 miles with no problems.
One end of the hose blew off during some rapid acceleration and sprayed tranny fluid all over the front of the engine. Towed her to a Firestone where they installed a hose and new fluid and I drove her home. That was Thursday.
Today I had a shift problem and then noticed fluid on the ground. The hose has a pinhole in it and it's squirting tranny fluid onto the radiator. I'm about a quart low and need to replace the hose but need to know what the pressure is at that point. I am thinking the 'master tech' at Firestone put on a hose that won't hold the pressure but not sure. Does anyone know what the pressure is at that point in the system??
