I've heard people complain about this before but now it's my turn. Ran the car on sunday no problem. Started the car monday morning, fan started making the most awful racket. Sounds like I put a playing card in the fan. Won't work on 1, put on 2 and the fan goes crazy, same for 3-5 setting.

Can this be accessed through the front cowl or do I have to take the dash apart?

Going to try to clean out squirrel cage tonight to see if I've got a leaf in there or maybe a piece of paper. If not will need to take out the motor to check the blades.

Found the culprit, now I just need to know where it came from and do I need to replace.

If anyone runs into this problem in the future here's a link to the writeup

Looks like a piece of foam insulation. I wouldn't worry about it.
