Take the tube off the thottle body and take the box out. put the new filter on the intake. put the ITAT (black sensor thing) by the filter. Done

I've got a 9" K&N open cone on my GTP.

Love how it makes the engine sound, especially at full boost.

After 10 years of having the stock airbox in storage, I just threw it out a few days ago.

^^That's a short ram...or hot air intake...a open cone...is an open cone...meaning...zip tie the IAT sensor to your throttle bracket (no it doesn't matter that its zip tied and ghetto) and bolt the filter RIGHT ON the end of the TB. Done.

Er... doesn't "open cone" just mean "not enclosed cone?" Just seems to be to be a bit pedantic to go into more detail.

    Looks good!

I have a SLP CAI on my 97 GT. What did you do with the PCM on the "Open Cone" intake? My PCM sits inside the SLP box like the original GM box.

it doesnt matter really. most will say just let it sit, ive heard of zip tying it down, or you could go to a junkyard and get the pcm tray out of an S10 ( i think it was s10?) and its supposed to fit perfectly.

How do you get out the stock air box? I know you need to remove that cross bar above it what do I do after that to get it out?

Just go out and give it a shot. You'll come back in looking silly asking these questions when you realize how easy this is to do.
2005 GTP - AL 605's gapped at .055", SD headers, WAI with 9" cone air filter, 180 degree t-stat, green coolant, otherwise stock.

Open cone is about as easy as changing the air filter. Cept you just yank stuff off and never put it back on...
