    ok..i just replaced the heater hoses on my car b/c one of them cracked and was causing my car to overheat...went to put everything back together and now my serpentine belt has about an inch of slack...HOW DO I MAKE THE BELT TIGHT!?! i have checked and the belt is on right..it just has some slack now!

    Then tensioner should spring back and put tension on the belt. How did you get the belt off if you dont know how the tensioner works?

    thnks for the post. but i actually had the belt on wrong..i found the layout of the belt online and fixed the belt right after my post! but...my car is still leaking coolant. and its getting on my belt and throwing the coolant under my hood...looks ugly but as long as i keep the radiator filled it doesnt overheat...i think its time to change the water pump!?!
