I own an 04 gp gt and I'm looking to sell it to buy a gp gtp. i found a guy who is selling an 04 gtp competition group with 103k miles on it. I was wondering with so many miles on it, and I've heard that at 150k the tranny starts to go, should i buy it? I take great care of my car and i know the guy who is selling it has taken great care of it. just some input? thanks.

it's not so much the mileage that kills the tranny, it's how it is driven. if you don't beat on it, it'll last. how much is he asking?

A tranny will last the life of any car aslong as its been taken care of. 103K is not that many miles anyway, heck im at 112k on my 2000 GTP.

as long as its been cared for and the proper fluid changes done, then there are no real worrys.

    that's way high... seriously, over 100k miles i'd do 7500 tops since it's a comp g. any other trim i'd say 6500
