I recently took my 2000 GTP to get the coolant flushed and thermastat changed. Now my temperature gauge is registering over 260 degress. The mechanic told me the computer is giving a read out of 195-205 degress. Not sure what could be the problem.

Could be a defective Temp sensor.. On a normal day of driving my 97, it gets to around 210 but never goes over.

If I recall correctly, it should be on one side of the Rad sticking out. I'm not 100% sure on that because I'm still learning about these cars too. If I am wrong, some else will tell you where it is.

Your welcome! I understand. I know more about 82-92 Firebirds and Camaros than anything else really.

Good Luck and I hope you get it fixed
