I just recently got my ac recharged for free by a friend with a shop at my wifes workplace. He forgot to replace the cap on the low pressure hose. I didnt think this was a problem. He lost the cap somewhere, which i didnt care because i got it done for free. Well about 2 weeks have gone by and now i have no ac, its blowin hot. Could the cap not being there cause it to leak out, or is there possibly another leak somewhere? Does that stop leak stuff work on ac's, has anyone had any experiance with this issue

The cap is just to keep out debris. Its the same setup as a tire valve stem. If the cap is off, the tire isnt going to go flat.

You have a leak somewhere in the system.

Look for traces of oil around the lines and around the
compressor. For what it's worth, I've had valves go
bad and leak, so check that fitting also. If it's not all
leaked out by now, you can use soapy water to aid in the
    search.
