Hi Everyone,
It's been a while. I'm in the middle of moving and haven't had much time to do anything with my car, but I did have a friend change the brakes a couple months ago.
Since I got the car back, when I turn my steering wheel dry or at low speeds (while parking), I hear/feel this loud rumbling/vibration. It doesn't just feel like the wheels turning on the pavement, it feels like something in the steering column, as I can feel it in my hands. Please note I do not have to turn the steering wheel far in either direction. It's any time I turn the wheel from 12 o'clock. And I've checked the power steering fluid - it's full.
I don't know if this is related, but a couple of weeks ago, my A/C stopped working. It was working VERY well up until about two weeks ago, but now on A/C or MAX A/C, all I get is the hot air from outside. When I switch from FAN to A/C I don't hear anything turn on, like I did when it was working.
Something else strange that I noticed is when I start the car cold, I hear this "clunk" sound just ONCE as soon as I touch the steering wheel. After that one time, I don't hear any odd sounds, but it's every time I start the car on a cold start.
Are these items related? I'm due for an Oil change, so I'm thinking I might ask the guy to take a look at my A/C, but if it's going to be pricey, I'm not going to have it fixed. Summer is almost over and I hardly drive the car for more than 15 minutes at a time. A/C just isn't THAT important to me right now, but if it's something I can fix, I might try.
The steering is more what I'm worried about. I'm scared it's going to cause something else to go wrong. Any ideas?
Thanks![]()
