    I have a 99 gp gt. At any speed the the rpms drop to idle when i let off the accelerator. Any ideas why?

    its supposed to do that.

    its not a manual and doesnt maintain rpm's when you let off. the car is coasting how its supposed to when you let off.

    Just to summarize the conversation in the chatbox for anyone that runs into this later.

    The RPM should drop, but not all the way to idle. You can get the effect you're talking about if the splines on the 4th clutch hub are stripped off. You also said you're at 3000 RPM at 70 MPH, which is far too high, and supports the theory that the clutch hub is toast.

    While cruising on the highway, pull the shifter back into 3rd and see if it downshifts. If not, we've found the problem.

    mine was doing that too and it was a vacuum leak on the LIM.

    he said at 70mph he was at 3300 or so
    so yea thats a trans issue more then likely 4th is gone BUT at the beginning it was explained that way
