Hey guys, Got some free time so I think its tune up time for my 03 GT. She has about 80,000 miles on her. I replaced the fuel filter today so that’s done with and besides spark plugs what else should I replace? Also how should I go about changing the transmission fluid? Last thing, I’m thinking about putting some fuel injector cleaner in her as well. Good idea? If so what brad you guys like?

    Check your air filter
Plug wires, you will probally break the old ones when you take them off
I use sea foam in the gas tank.
Best way to change the transmission fluid is take it to a shop and have them flush it with a machine. Gets all the old out while putting in new. I would not worry about the trans filter, unless Your old fluid is really burnt and you are having transmission problems.

You can switch that out too if you want. It is under your map sensor on the left side of the plenum as you are looking at it from the front.

Change the cabin air filter if you have it. You wont believe the crap built up in that. PCV valve is easy. Flush and replace Dex cool. Sea foam the engine through the vacuum lines. pull out the throttle body screen and spray the butterfly valve with throttle body/carb cleaner, clean out the sticky junk.
New thermostat. Air filter. Plugs. Wires. Replacing any fluid is good.
You've done the fuel filter already. Might as well change the oil seeing as you are doing everything else.
All pretty cheap, easy fun to do stuff.
I like Lucas upper cylinder lubricant/injector cleaner myself. Or Sea foam.

Fram part # for Monte's and Impala's is CF8392 or CF8392A if you want the fancier one. fram.com will show you all of the competitors part #'s if you prefer another maker.
It did not show a cabin air filter for an 03 GP though. Strange. Does yours have one?
Here is a link for an 04 GP cabin filter install with pics, just to compare.

    U P D A T E........

so 2day after i got my drain defelctor and a "buick" cabin filter in, i decided to leave a few screws out of the cowl and took a drive back to the autozone... same guy as yesterday was there.. he was like "soo your back for refund huh..??!! i said no i would like to show you something.. LOL

came outside took the screw out and pulled of the cowl to show him the "buick" cabin filter... can you guess what the guy said...?????
told me i was dumb for doin this, it was goin to make any difference cause GPs dont come with one from factory.. i kinda let it go, didnt say anything back to but i had a D A M N GOOD LAUGH!! got back inside to buy some parts(2 timken wheel bearings, axel shaft and a tie rod joint) dude was being a smartazz now.. "would you like these parts to fit a buick too?!?!?"
i said "im sure some will fit being made by GM... fyi GM does make cars where the same parts fit diff models ya know.. doesnt your computer show you this??" the started a pretty heated arguement in front of ppl at the store.. we were calling each other every name in the book!! LOL a coworker took him back into the stock area. another worker told me to get my F'n A s s outa there.. as i was leaving i gave a speach to the customers in the store that were standing there with in shock and aw.. "see how great autozone is!! these ppl dont know anything about cars! im goin to o'rileys to get my parts were the service is FRIENDLY!" as i walked out 4ppl followed.. when i got to o'rileys i seen 3 of the ppl there from autozone!!! job well done!! L M F A O

sorry bout the long rant but it was good!!

As far as preventative maintenance: Dealership tranny flush (they use SOP, which is to not use any detergents, unlike some other shops might), coolant flush, oil change, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, cabin air filter, intake filter, clean MAF, clean throttle body, fuel filter, GM fuel treatment.
