Hello all, new to the forums but could use anyones help. I own a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. My fuel pump went bad and therefore decided to buy a new one. I bought an Airtex Master/Fuel Pump with the Part Number: E3973M from O'reilly's Auto Parts. Which has the new harness along with the whole pump assembly. They carry the same pump at AutoZone and Advance Auto only a little cheaper. Now to my problem I cannot for the life of me push the pump far enough down to get the snap ring back on. It'll go in just fine without the "O" rubber ring on it but I'm sure that is needed on there to keep dust and particles out. It's not clearing it by maybe 1/8-1/4 of and inch and is incredibly frustrating. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
