Got a 02 prix GT with a problem. Imagine that huh? lol any how i have been noticing that the ABS light along with traction controll lights have been going off occasionally. Seems like when the car is jarred by a bump the abs will go off. Well simple enough, so i went around with the multimeter to test the wheel sensors-all good. was not that concerned with the problem so i left it at that. But later on i poped the car in neutral coasting to a stop one day and the dam speedo plummets to zero. HUD and odometer also not working. put tranny back in gear, speedo comes back? It seems to only happen if the abs light has been triggered, but if the abs light is on the speedo only does this about half the time. Also the last week or so i have noticed the cruise control seems to be dropping out occasionally when the abs goes off along with the dead speedo while in neutral. Is this maybe a transaxle sensor? Anyhow though i would bounce this around see if someone else has ever had such weird intermittent problems.

one of your front abs sensor wires is deteriorating. as the wire gets worse, so will your problem.... its not necessarily the wire attatched to the hub/bearing itself, but more then likely the harness you plug them into

Or you have bad wheel hub bearings. I do, and Trac Off and ABS Light up at the same time.

it COULD be a bad hub/bearing, but if it was, i would think the abs/trac off lights would be on from the moment you move your car that first foot, and not just come on with the occasional bump.

when mine acted exactly like his is now, it was the wiring

Ok i think i will take the multimeter to the wires going into the control box. I hope its not a wheel bearing issue. Have replace all four bearings in the last couple years-all timkin lifetime bearings. thanks for the help guys.

My ABS light and traction control off lights are always on too. I think it's because my e-brake is broke. Is yours?

It could be as simple as a missing connector, my lights are always on and that is my problem
