    Hi,

    I've just inherited my family's 2004 GT2 along with a few... complications.

Recently we've been getting a problem on the dash which happens at COMPLETELY random times. I will drive for 5 mins or for an hour when this problem happens.

    The Problem:

While driving, the warning light for the ABS, Traction Control, Power Steering appears and it feels like I lose my power steering. Turning happens to be alot tighter and stiffer. I've attached a small video below if someone wouldn't mind taking a quick look at it to get a better understanding of the problem, that would be great.

    Thanks!
    Kyle

P.S - Yes my clock light is partially burnt out and my dash is dirty ^^

I have been researching the same problem with my 04 GTP and it appears to be pretty common from what I am finding. I spoke with a mechanic friend and he knew exactly what I was talking about and told me that the hubs need to be replaced and the sensors will go back into allignment and all will function properly. He guessed about $250 per (I am in Canada so price may vary) to do it yourself.

Hubs? Which hubs? And yes I'm in Canada as well, is it fairly simple to fix?

The wheel hub and bearing assembly needs to be replaced on the front wheels. Sounds fairly simple, pull the wheel, pull the caliper and wiring and two bolts to get the hub off. Partsource was the cheapest when I checked yesterday at $150 each.

Hey Guys...I have a 2000 Grand Prix GTP...just wanted to let you know that I replaced my own right wheel hub and bearing assembly last year, only to find that it needed replacing again. To be honest, if you have power tools and/or decent experience fixing cars this isn't too tough to do, but if you don't...it can be a bit of a challenge. Make sure that you are greasing the bearing WELL before sliding it in. Also you want to make sure that everything is fairly clean, as dirt with screw with your bearings. Make sure it's in tight!
